When I walk in the woods, I am always on the lookout for intersting fungal growths to photograph.
"Amanita muscari", a dangerous and deadly mushroom, but so lovely! Original digital print on cotton, fabric handpainted by the artist, commercial fabrics, couched threads, stitching, hand beading. 25" x 24". For Sale: $450.
"Russula rosacea", a charming pink beauty. Original digital photo on cotton, fabic handpainted by the artist, commercial fabrics, couched threads, stitching, hand beading. 25" x 24". For Sale: $450.
"Chicken of the Woods" is a type of shelf fungus, growing on tree bark. It is edible, and is reputed to taste like...well, chicken! Original digital photo on cotton, commercial cottons and wool, stitching, hand beading. 23" x 23". For Sale: $450.
"River Hills Mushrooms" I couldn't nail down the identification on these--there are a lot of LBMs--little brown mushrooms--that look like this. They were growing in a crack in a fallen tree. Original digital photo print on cotton; silk, cotton and linen fabrics, extensive machine stitching, hand beading. Size: 24" x 23". For Sale: $450.
"Shelf Mushroom". I found this one near Grubb Lake, on a tree covered with greenbrier. Original digital photo print on silk, silk and wool fabrics, stitching, hand beading. 16" x 16".
